Award Winning Quilts & How to Make ThemIn this lecture, Barbara will take you on a journey inside her quilting world, giving you an insight to her attitude as well as techniques when working on a major piece. Several of her award winning quilts will be hanging & Barbara will discuss in detail the building of these quilts from conception to completion. These quilts have won major awards at major shows in both Britain & America, resulting in Barbara being named as one of “The Thirty Most Distinguished Quilt Artists of the World 2004” in Tokyo. You will go through the design process with her and then gain knowledge of how Barbara developed the techniques for making them including her specialized piecing, machine quilting, trapunto and appliqué. Towards the close of the lecture, you can ask questions about any aspect that you wish to know more about.

This talk covers the quilts, inspirations and motivations behind the earliest of my work and you can
follow the progress I made leading to the many awards that my quilts have won.
This talk is illustrated with slides.
There is also the opportunity to look at many of these quilts close up.

You will see many examples and be given great ideas for using foundation piecing in exciting new ways. This talk is illustrated with slides, samples and quilts.
